Project Introduction
Café Stationside reimagines a mid-twentieth-century commercial building, transforming it into a 140-seat lounge bar and café that embraces its industrial heritage while fostering a dynamic relationship with the streetscape. Located beside Gardendale train station, the café retains the robust steel and concrete structure of the original site while introducing warm timber elements, textured brick, and contemporary insertions. Expansive lift-up steel windows open the façade, creating an interactive connection with passersby, while a layered interior layout balances openness with intimate dining experiences.
This project represents a shared vision brought to life by our dedicated team. We respectfully acknowledge the Bunurong people, also known as the Boonwurrung people, traditional custodians of this land, whose enduring care and connection continue to inspire our work.
